Good evening dear toastmasters and the most welcome guests, today I’m going to talk about stent, * which is my graduate research, the same as Frank. No, just kidding! Since there are tons of people called Eric not only in toastmasters but widespread in Taiwan, I want to talk about my English name.

        Actually, Eric is not my first given name. My first English name is Joey*, spelled j-o-e-y. My English teacher in elementary school gave me shortly after I told her that my Chinese name is 邱奕翔. 邱奕翔, Joey, sounds alike, doesn’t it? I liked this name for that it was phonetically similar to my Chinese name, thus connected. And* Joey=邱奕翔was easy to be remembered.
